THE VOICE OF ISABEL LUNA

Isabel Luna

Hi! I'm Isabel Luna, I'm 31 years old and I'm originally from Cabo San Lucas, BCS. I studied Hospitality Management in Guadalajara and I am part of the Covive team since August 2021. I am in charge of coordinating the administrative area and improving processes. The latter is something I love to do, detect the area of opportunity to do it in an easy, efficient and fast way.
I love food, I love to travel around the city looking for new spots with good food and a nice atmosphere. I love animals, series, cold weather with a good coffee and sweet bread, potatoes with chili, walking, roadtrips, stopping and visiting magical towns.

WHAT IS MEXICO CITY FOR YOU?

It is a place full of opportunities in terms of work, culture, friendship, enriching experiences, etc. It is also very rich in its diversity so no one judges you, everyone is on their own terms and you can live your life freely, something that you value very much as you grow and mature.
I arrived here in May 2018 and I love it! For me, the only thing that CDMX has given me back are all the beautiful things. It's chaotic, but within all its chaos there are many incredible experiences waiting to be lived.

WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST WAY TO GET TO KNOW MEXICO CITY?

Walking, biking or scootering is the best way if you want to get to know the city in detail. A walk through Roma, Condesa, Reforma, Juarez and you will be pleasantly surprised by all the beautiful places you will see.

TOP 5 RECOMMENDATIONS IN MEXICO CITY

  1. Afternoon walk at Condesa or Roma Norte, is something I highly recommend to get to know all the places around you. Specifically where I like to walk the most is along the street camellón of Durango, Mazatlán, Nuevo León and Alfonso Reyes. There are many cafes and restaurants that are worth stopping to visit. Amsterdam Street is also a must on Condesa.
  2. Breakfast, brunch, dinner, glass of wine, etc., at Niddo restaurant - one of my favourite places! EVERYTHING is delicious, both sweet and savoury.
  3. Quarantine Bakingthe best desserts! You will love everything you try from them.
  4. Taverna Priman amazing restaurant/cantina/bar on Calle General Prim in Colonia Juarez. The place is spectacular, as is the food and the atmosphere.
  5. Casa Francaideal for drinks and jazz in an old house in Roma.
  6. Cantina "La Opera", a cantina in the centre of town known because Pancho Villa fired a bullet that he left embedded in a wall. The bar with the bar in the background, the seats, the boots, everything is still the same. Highly recommended to get to know the place, have a tequila and then continue touring the centre.
