Second Anniversary Covive

Second AnniversaryCovive

Covive is 2 years old. 24 months of learning, adjusting and trying new things. We continue seeking to transform the experience of living in community. We continue working to demonstrate that living with equals and differences gives us access to more and better experiences, spaces and resources. We remain convinced that community living is a more efficient, more fun, more sustainable and more convenient alternative for everyone.

What we have built in these two years is constantly evolving. Our product is and will continue to be in the process of improving the social and spatial experience -because that is what our residents are asking for. But what we can proudly say, two years after starting up, is that Covive is already a vibrant community that transcends our buildings and goes beyond those of us who work in the company.

In two years, 94 people have lived at Covive. Their ages range from 19 to 52 years old. Forty-seven percent are Mexican, and we have had inhabitants from France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France and the United States. On average, these residents have stayed with us for 7 months. For all of them, we have built a home that welcomes them with open arms.

Our history

Two years ago, Covive opened the doors of its first shared house of five Rooms at Roma Norte: Pushkin Garden House. The first version of our product was focused on simplifying the process of home sharing and decreasing the friction associated with living with roommates. In the beginning Covive was a home sharing manager focused on minimizing friction to make the sharing experience more comfortable and enjoyable.

The Pushkin Garden House was what entrepreneurs call a minimum viable product. To be able to understand, test and refine quickly. The response was encouraging. The House had very good occupancy from the second month of operation. Therefore, we opened a second, third and fourth house at Roma Norte. From this we learned that there are many people looking for a better sharing experience. And that our role of minimizing friction had to become more active. To focus on offering an experience where sharing is living more: to take advantage of the fertile soil of a house with minimal friction to detonate transcendental coexistence.

On our first anniversary, Covive signed its first deal with an owner willing to remodel with every detail thought out to enhance the sharing experience. Thus we were able to open the Casa Rio de Janeiroa porfirian property in the heart of Colonia Roma Norte (8 Rooms, 340 m2). This Casa has been in operation since July 2020. Four months after the opening, in the middle of the pandemic, we managed to have a full house. With a stable, active and very happy community.

Second AnniversaryCovive

Also during this second year of operations, we initiated several efforts to improve the social experience of our Community. We transformed the Bylaws into a Coexistence Agreement, which is based on values as a guide to promote coexistence, diversity and community spirit.

This is what we will be focusing on during our third year. On designing for conviviality. Designing to help the Community turn strangers into housemates, good neighbors and lifelong friends. We have a long way to go, and we look to the immediate future with excitement.
