Casa Curie Monterrey

We are very excited to announce the opening of our latest home: CASA CURIE in Monterrey, Mexico, our first home outside of CDMX. This is the largest and most sustainable house in Covive. It reflects our learning, values ​​and the human essence of sharing through carefully designed coliving spaces. With this design-for-community approach, we achieve full occupancy in a short time. CASA CURIE is a 3-story building with 541 m2 of total construction. With 18 rooms and 324 m2 of common and shared areas (about 60% of the total area) with beautiful views of the mountains. CASA CURIE has been granted an Honourable Mention at the Coliving Awards 2023 in the category: Building & Architecture.

Common spaces

We focus our energy and resources in our amazing common spaces that encourage community and wellbeing. These spaces are used by the entire community of Casa Curie. Amenities for 18-24 inhabitants: TV room, gym, coworking and roof garden, social reception with mailbox, warehouses for ops (218.08 m2)

Shared spaces

Each one of our houses have a shared kitchen, dining, and living room (fully equipped). These spaces are used by the community of each house respectively. 2 houses for 9-12 inhabitants with living room, kitchen and dining room (104.80 m2)

Private spaces

Rooms with the basics, residents are encouraged to appropriate their space and use the shared spaces. These spaces are used exclusively by the resident who signs a contract with us. 2 houses w/ 9 rooms (each house)  for 1-2 inhabitants (216.80 m2)

Innovative / sustainable materials 🏢

A deep study of the place was carried out to discover its potential; understand, design and implement the best options to improve the comfort and make the building more sustainable.

Solar panels 🌞🔋

Casa Curie has 32 panels of 585 w. The panels generate enough electricity to power minimum half-house, including the air conditioning, lighting, and appliances.The solar panels are a major step towards making Casa Curie a sustainable building.

Cross ventilation 🌬️↖️

The house is oriented to take advantage of the prevailing winds. This allows for natural ventilation, which reduces the need for air conditioning. Cross ventilation also helps to improve the air quality in the house.

Local vegetation 🏜️🍃

The landscape of Casa Curie is designed using plants that are native to the region. These plants are low-maintenance and require little water. The local vegetation helps to create a more sustainable environment for Casa Curie.

No gas, only electric boilers and electric grills  ⚡💡

Casa Curie does not have any gas installations. This is to reduce the risk of fire and to make the house more environmentally friendly. The house is heated and cooled using electricity and solar power.

DAILY OPERATIONS

🔒SALTO technology for access control so residents can use their smartphones to open the doors. This also helps with operations efficiency and security.

📍3D online house tour so potential residents can view the house before they visit. This improves sales efficiency.

The project itself has significant relevance due to its sustainable implementations and its great impact on social, ecological and community aspects. In addition, it stands as a pioneer venture in terms of coliving in Monterrey. This achievement is due to the exceptional collaboration of the team and the Property Owners.

With the help of Property Owners, Casa Curie has implemented a number of technology integrations to improve daily operations, safety, health, and sustainability.

Covive partnered with property owners to transform the 6 apartments project into a coliving space. Covive gave the  guidelines to ensure the design of shared spaces encourages community living. We focus our energy and resources in common & shared spaces that encourage community.

 

👫Common and shared spaces are 60% of the total area of the building. 

🛋️68% of the expenses  in FF&E was invested in  shared and common spaces.
