Hugs are small impulses that, in spite of lasting a few moments, remain engraved in the memory. With them, we seek to share and communicate our feelings: those that happen in the present or belong to the past. Although also, of course, sometimes they sneak in to calm sadness.
With hugs we want, at least we try, to eliminate the uneasiness of a time that cannot be reciprocated.
Spinning: To join, join and form something. It is woven together and incorporates one piece with the other. Like hugs.
Today, however, we embrace each other in a different way. With new languages, for a brief moment, we create looms full of new memories, we create looms full of new memories. We do it individually, yes, but mostly collectively, so it is more comfortable for us. We question and transform the contradictions of past languages in order not only not to get lost, but also to get closer and to bring down melancholy and longing.
We generate signs, sounds and even the occasional jitanjáfora to weave lines. Those that connect us with what we are in the present and that add us to the present of others.
This work, located in Casa Amatlán, invites us to reflect on hugs as a gesture to share and communicate happiness: those that happen in the present or already belong to the past.
