Smash The House

For Covive starting a new project is more than adapting a house, apartment or building previously used in obsolete housing models. For Covive starting a new project involves weeks of planning, months of work and strategies to make the best use of spaces. The concept of Coliving is one where there are spaces that privilege coexistence and reduce friction between similar; however, personal spaces are also respected where privacy is the number one priority, that is where Coliving arises, in the ideal balance for each community.

We have started with the adaptation of our seventh Coliving project in Mexico City, with the learnings and experiments made previously, today we know that Casa Amatlan will be a star project in the area Condesa. It will have a distribution of shared spaces that will make you feel in an incredibly large open space, without losing that feeling of being at home.

As a kick-off, the Covive team has adopted a ritual called Smash The House, where our collaborators come together to demolish drywall, remove a door or even just smash an old painting in a symbolism where we are replacing obsolete housing models and building on them the future of housing. A future where the inhabitant and their experience is the priority, not rents or finishing a project quickly. A future where sharing benefits and not individualistic thinking because we have understood that by sharing we live more...

The start of restructuring operations for a reformulated housing model at Casa Amatlán also marks the second anniversary of Covive, which from day one has sought to change the urban housing model towards one that is more friendly to the inhabitant and real modern needs.

The Casa Amatlán project will probably be one of the first projects of Covive to receive national and foreign residents at Condesa, thus increasing the network of spaces and supply of shared houses.
