Sharing is living + Coexistence triggers

At Covive we want to celebrate the human essence of sharing spaces, resources and experiences, so that sharing is a pleasure (and not just a necessity). That is why we work so that all the inhabitants turn their house into a home. Where under the premise of diversity, you can live together with harmony and empathy.

After many months in operation we realized that the hardest part of living with strangers is taking the first step to get to know them and becoming housemates. The biggest challenge we have is to help the houses become a space for coexistence, so we are always looking for ways to help build a more united community without losing the charm of spontaneity.

Designing for sharing is our biggest challenge, because we believe that the way we relate to each other depends a lot on our context. That's why we are always thinking about how to improve the physical, digital and sensory experience of our community. That's why we were thinking about how the components in a house can nurture the community. So we came up with the idea of designing objects that help detonate transcendental coexistence (beyond the superficial), so that the inhabitants have more tools to turn strangers into companions, and housemates into lifelong friends.

What are coexistence objects?

Throughout the last few months we have been working on developing and landing our ideas, designing them and thinking about how to implement them. With this in mind was born the idea of the honey of care, the recipe book of the house, the card game and other things that later, we will tell you in detail. The sole purpose of all these objects is to bring the community of Covive closer to each other, giving them the opportunity to get to know each other, to listen to each other, to share. The objects are part of the house, but also generate a warmer environment and help us to live together and get to know each other. Each of these objects is rooted in the values we know are necessary to be the vibrant community we long for: respect, diversity, empathy, belonging, communication and resilience. We seek to embody them in each of the coexistence triggers, so that flowing over them happens in a natural, fun and welcoming way.

For us this has been a great challenge, it has made us imagine what community we want, how we can help it to improve and consolidate, always contemplating and rooting everything in our values and golden rules, trying to impregnate every corner of the houses with the essence of Covive. We know that this is just the beginning of several efforts, ideas and interventions that we want to do to nurture our community day by day and the outlook looks quite encouraging.
