How to celebrate 14 February with my roomies

Spend February 14 with your roomies

Who said that February 14 is only for couples? For us it celebrates friendship and community. It's more like a day to show our appreciation for all the people we share and who have left us something. Your roomies are part of all your days and this is probably a perfect excuse for you to spend some time together.

Here are some recommendations for you to celebrate February 14 together, in community.

Cook together (or order from home)

When was the last time you met in the kitchen and prepared something together? You decide, it can be breakfast or dinner, if one person has other plans with someone else. It could be your chance to show off your country's cuisine or what you learned abroad when you lived alone. If you're not in the mood, you can always order something that everyone likes and play a game while you wait.

Watch your favorite movie

It's never too late to watch a good cheesy or heartbreak movie on Netflix and it never hurts to get together with your roomies, make some popcorn and drinks in preparation for the movie marathon. Some ideas gathered in the office while doing this article are "500 days of Summer", "13 Going on 30", "10 things I hate about you".

Give each other some gifts

It's always good to give. Take the time to buy your roomie something, it doesn't have to be anything spectacular as long as you do it with a good intention. Try some chocolates or a succulent plant for her room. You can write her a note and leave the gift on her door or deliver it to her personally that day.

If you agree, you can give each other something together, maybe visit a gallery to buy a painting for the common areas. We will install it for you.

Have an anti-Valentine's Day

Have a little get-together at home or go to a party, listen to non-romantic music so you can think about something else or just go to a bar and have a great night full of drinks and dancing.
