The importance of knowing your neighbours

Your relationship with your neighbour is important

A 2010 Pew Research Center Survey confirmed that only 57% of U.S. adults know some or none of their neighbors by name.

For us, conviviality is a key part of daily life. From the first digital or physical interactions every day, drinking your coffee in the morning with your roommate or when launching the first tweet of the day. Even the coexistence -whether healthy or not- that exists in your work environment.

The coexistence that exists in the place where you live should be one of your priorities simply because of the security that this can represent for the whole community. On the other hand, it will bring more comfort to your chosen place to build your life.

If you talk to your neighbors and manage to establish a relationship, you will undoubtedly be opening the door to much more information and resources as you will begin to complement each other. For example, if you need a drill to make an improvement to your house, it is likely that your neighbor has one.

You will feel less lonely, it is one of the main reasons why you should interact with the people around you. Nowadays loneliness is a problem that we must face in community. You will be able to deal with household problems with more hands and fresh ideas that complement each other for a better solution.

Social interactions create happiness in our brains so, believe it or not, saying hello to that neighbor who always stares at you funny when you go out will benefit both you and her.

So don't hesitate to initiate new interactions with your neighbors, scale your relationship to the next level and establish trust and affability among all the units you continuously inhabit. We assure you that you will have a better life if you set this as a short-term goal.
