The next "Place to be" - La Narvarte

narvarte

An extensive location in Mexico City that in recent years has been filled with new restaurants, spaces and places to live is gaining even more strength in searches due to its ideal location. A few blocks from the Roma Norte and connected to the entire public transportation network is a new area where people are looking to move.

Curiously, in the beginning it was called Nalvarte because Don Felipe José de Nalvarte bought a hacienda in the area. Initially it was used for planting grains and magueys. Some time later someone named Escandón bought the entire area to grow the assets he had and thus guarantee his mission in Mexico City.

More than a decade ago, Narvarte began a transformation, filling its spaces with public parks, road infrastructure and transportation connectivity, making it an ideal place to live. For example, the entire Xola Avenue is full of cantinas and taquerias. And yes, we definitely have to try them all because walking around the area the aromas incite you to break your diet. The cafes are not far behind and not to mention the bike shops and small businesses that give that local Mexican vibe to the neighborhood.

One of our favorite Sinaloa style seafood restaurants is located at Diagonal San Antonio 1709-C. That's right, Mi Gusto Es started with a small branch in the area and has grown insanely in the last few years making it a must try option if you are in the area. Another fun fact about the area comes diagonally. If you are new to the area, use a navigator so you don't end up wandering around for hours on the same streets, there are endless diagonals.

Where once existed the baseball scene of the capital now stands a shopping plaza where you can hang out and do your shopping, best of all - at least for us - is that everything is within walking distance. You will also find a castle. Yes, as you read it. There is a castle in the middle of Nalvarte . With a medieval style, the castle offers services for events, parties and meetings.

The Narvarte neighborhood offers us an incredible variety of restaurants, public spaces, connectivity and curious places to explore. For this and much more we consider it the next Place to be in Mexico City.
