At Covive we want to celebrate the human essence of sharing spaces, resources and experiences, so that sharing is by taste (and not just out of necessity). That’s why we work to make all the inhabitants turn their home into a home. Where under the premise of diversity, it can coexist with harmony and empathy.
After many months in operation we realized that the hardest part of living with strangers is taking the first step to meet them and become housemates. The biggest challenge we have is to help make the houses a space of coexistence, so we always seek to give nudes, in order to help build a more united community without losing the charm of spontaneity.
Designing to share is our biggest challenge, because we start that the way we relate to people depends a lot on our context. That’s why we’re always thinking about how to improve the physical, digital and sensory experience of our community. That’s why we’ve been thinking about how components in a home can nurture the community. Thus came the idea of designing objects that help to detonate transcendental coexistence (beyond the superficial), so that the inhabitants have more tools to turn strangers into companions, the companions of the house into friends for life.
What are objects of coexistence?
Over the last few months we have been working on developing and landing our ideas, designing them and thinking about how to implement them. With this in mind it was how the idea of caring honey, the recipe book of the house, the card game and other things that later, we will talk to you in detail, was born. All these objects have as their sole purpose, that the Community of Covive, gets closer to each other, giving you the opportunity to get to know each other, to listen to each other, to share. The objects are part of the house, but they also generate a warmer atmosphere and will help us to live together and get to know each other. Each of these objects has as its root the values that we know necessary to be the vibrant community that we crave so much: respect, diversity, empathy, belonging, communication and resilience. We seek to capture them in each of the detonators of coexistence, so that it can flow on them, happen naturally, fun and cozy.
For us this has been a great challenge, it has put us to imagine what community we want, how we can help it improve and consolidate, always contemplating and rooting everything in our values and rules of gold, trying to impregnate every corner of the houses with the essence of Covive. We know that this is only the beginning of various efforts, ideas and interventions that we want to make to day-day feed our community and the picture, it looks quite encouraging.
