Neighbors Newton House

A little less than a year ago, the community Covive arrived at Polanco, locating Casa Newton in one of the most central areas of this iconic neighborhood of the CDMX.

In this post we present some of the places you can visit and start your adventure in the CDMX.

PARKS AND SQUARES

Lincoln Park

Plaza Uruguay: 4 blocks from the subway station Polanco, is located this outdoor space which has the statue of General José Artigas, hero of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, made of bronze and donated by the city of Montevideo in 1947.

An ideal place to go for a walk and connect with nature in the middle of the city.

Lincoln Park: 8 blocks from Casa Newton we can find Lincoln Park, the first park of Polanco. There we can find the statues of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King and the famous Clock Tower where art exhibitions are currently held.

It has free wireless internet. If you like rollerblading or skateboarding, you can do it on some of its trails and it also has an aviary.

Parque América: If running or biking is your thing, Parque América and its long extension is an ideal place for you, you can also enjoy a quiet day walking and getting to know the neighborhood.

POLANQUITO" RESTAURANTS

Polanquito

The Polanquito neighborhood is one of the landmarks of the CDMX, surrounded by restaurants, theaters, fashion stores and art galleries, here are some of its most popular restaurants:

Quintonil: Since 2012 chefs Alejandra Flores and Jorge Vallejo opened the doors of this wonderful restaurant, which seeks to express in its menu the flavors of the ingredients of the Mexican territory under a personal look, since 2015 Quintonil belongs to The 50 Best World's Restaurants where it currently ranks number 27.

Rosa Negra: This restaurant located in Masaryk, pays tribute to Latin American cuisine, combining authentic and daring flavors, which make RosaNegra a place where you can share in community.

Turix: If your thing is StreetFood Taqueria the Turix is your place, they have one of the best cochinita tacos in the CDMX, the place located on Emilio Castelar street also sells tamales on weekends, so it can be an ideal place to get to know Mexican gastronomy.

Eno: This restaurant can become one of your favorites for a weekend breakfast, Chef Enrique Olvera in this place gives us a menu ranging from eggs with ejote, to chilaquiles and molletes, to delicious homemade bread.

MUSEUMS

Soumaya Museum

Museo Soumaya: Located in Plaza Carso, known since its inauguration in 2011 as one of the most iconic buildings in CDMX, in its lobby you can find "La perta del infierno" by August Rodin and in its upper levels you can find permanent exhibitions such as "Asía en Marfíl", "Modernidad", "Antiguos Maestros Europeos y Novohispanos", among others.

Museo Jumex: And you can put together an incredible weekend plan, since right in front of the Soumaya Museum you will find the Jumex Museum of contemporary art, which opened its doors in 2013 and since then has been dedicated to supporting and promoting art through exhibitions of artists such as Duchamps-Koons, Josué Mejía, Gonzalo Lebrija, Clara Porset, among others.

Sala de Arte Publico Siqueiros: This building, a legacy of David Alfaro Siqueiros, together with an important collection of easel, graphic, drawing, studies and mural projects. Currently, the SAPS is a museum, consultation and research center and also hosts countless conferences and discussion tables on contemporary art.
